Business Coaching

“Coaching has helped me focus on what I actually want to achieve and helped me prioritise what is important. The biggest benefit has been taking time out of an ‘always too busy’ schedule to actually think about what I want—some ‘me’ time.” RB

About Business Coaching

Running your own business can be exciting, liberating and rewarding but it can also be stressful, lonely and overwhelming if you don’t have the right support in place. When you work for an organisation, there are colleagues to bounce ideas off, other people to do the jobs you can’t do yourself and, ultimately, someone else shouldering the responsibility. As a small business owner, you have to manage everything yourself. You have to decide what you want to achieve, where to invest your time and money, what to do yourself and what to delegate, and keep yourself focused, motivated and sharp so you can stay on your A game. This is where a business coach can be a godsend. Business coaching sessions provide you with a valuable, structured thinking and development space where you can discuss your business goals and challenges in confidence and work through issues. As an experienced coach, I help you to stand back from your business and see things from different perspectives, helping you see things clearly and gain new insights and potential solutions. You still call the shots and decide the focus of our sessions and the actions you want to take, but I help you take a more objective viewpoint and clarify your thinking so you feel clear, motivated and focused and achieve the business results you want. Specifically, I can help you:

Clarify business direction and goals

Break down the goals into manageable steps and actions

Prioritise and make decisions

Make the most of your strengths

Decide when and where to delegate

Keep you on track and motivated

Spot opportunities and manage risk

Tackle issues and challenges

Manage your stress levels

Maintain a work/life balance

Enjoy your business and feel satisfied

“My experience of working with Alison has been transformative. She has helped in a number of ways but most importantly, with decision making.” Sophie

Working with Me

I have a warm, approachable but professional style and you can expect sessions to feel enjoyable and supportive. But I will also to challenge your thinking, encourage you to move out of your comfort zone and keep you on track to achieve your goals. After a free, confidential, initial chat to discuss your requirements, I can advise how we can best achieve the results you want and the number of sessions you might need. This usually takes the form of a block of four to eight sessions to start with, perhaps to kickstart a new business, clarify direction or deal with a particular challenge. Then you have the option to continue for as long as you want. I have some business clients that have been working with me for years and continue because they’re getting great results and they tell me it keeps them sane.

I started working with Alison not long after I started my business – I was overwhelmed and looking for someone to help me figure out what my next steps should be. Years later coaching is still one of the most valuable investments I’ve made. Alison is brilliant; she challenges my assumptions and helps me be strategic about solving problems. Her support and encouragement has helped me turn my ideas into reality and in the time we’ve worked together the business has achieved more than I thought possible.   Rachel
